Barn Owner

Heather

Owner of Burnt Feather Farms, Heather, has been riding horses since she was a toddler, with her love of horses sparked by her grandmother’s horses in Washington. With a lifelong passion for horsemanship, she has gained extensive experience in colt starting, tune-ups, lower-level dressage, trail obstacles, and training horses and mules to pack. However, her true expertise lies in driving—training everything from miniature ponies to massive eight-horse hitches. With decades of hands-on experience, Heather is dedicated to helping horses and riders reach their full potential.

Her training approach is rooted in natural horsemanship, prioritizing clear communication and respect between horse and rider. With a strong emphasis on groundwork as the foundation for success, she works to develop well-balanced, responsive, and confident horses in any discipline.
