Welcome
to Our Farm
Welcome to Burnt Feather Farms, where we are dedicated to building a more sustainable future for our family while providing top-quality care to horses and livestock. Our farm, located in the heart of Oswego County, New York, is nestled on 120 acres in Mexico and is home to a growing community of animals and people alike. As first-generation farmers, we’re passionate about restoring our historic dairy farm to its former beauty-reviving the land and buildings with new purpose and care.
We specialize in horse boarding, lessons, and training across a variety of disciplines, from dressage and western riding to colt starting and driving. With spacious stalls, acres of turnout, and a newly constructed indoor riding arena, we offer a welcoming environment for both horse and rider.
In addition to our equine services, we offer Fainting Goat Yoga-a fun and relaxing wellness experience open to all ages—as well as Horse & Farm Day Camps for children, where young adventurers can enjoy horseback riding, farm crafts, animal care, and hands-on farm life experiences.
Our farm is also home to a herd of Miniature Silky Fainting Goats, who bring joy and laughter to everyone they meet, along with our loyal livestock guardian dogs who help keep the farm safe and thriving.
Whether you’re looking for exceptional horse care, a unique farm experience, or a place to unwind and reconnect with nature, we invite you to be a part of our journey at Burnt Feather Farms.

Homesteading, in reality, is the art of embracing our roots, rediscovering our relationship with the land, and nurturing a life that's both fulfilling and meaningful. It's a journey of self-discovery, a path that leads us back to simplicity. Lastly, it's a celebration of the beauty that can be found in the most basic things."

Our Critters

All of our personal horses at Burnt Feather Farms are rescues. Each has a unique story, and we’re proud to give them a safe, loving home where they can thrive. All of them are undergoing rehabilitation and training as future lesson horses.

Our farm is home to Mini Silky Fainters, Fainters, and Nigerian Dwarfs. Our charming fainters never fail to put a smile on everyone’s face, while our Dwarfs provide us with the highest quality milk for all of our homesteading needs.

The farm relies on the incredible protection and companionship of Great Pyrenees and Akbash livestock guardian dogs. Because they are bred to ensure the security of our farm, goats, and rabbits, we couldn’t farm without them!
